Procurement Support Specialist - Railway and Transit Construction - Hybrid
Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Procurement Support Specialist with civil experience relating to railways/transit in the New York City, NY & Newark, NJ area.
The ideal candidate has 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain support roles, as well as a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
If selected, candidates will need to provide digital proof of licensure and certification for all U.S.-based accolades, including academic degree, before time of interview. This is a full-time, Hybrid position in New York, NY.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Identify and pre-qualify suppliers and subcontractors that meet project requirements.
- Conduct background checks and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in the preparation, issuance, and tracking of purchase orders for materials, equipment, and services.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure all orders are accurate and delivered on time to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain up-to-date records of procurement documents, including contracts, purchase orders, and amendments.
- Ensure all documentation complies with project requirements, regulatory guidelines, and audit standards.
- Act as a point of contact for suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and any procurement-related issues.
- Resolve logistical and scheduling conflicts by coordinating with suppliers and project teams.
- Assist with budget tracking, ensuring procurement activities align with project budget allocations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related required, advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain support roles.
- Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with suppliers and internal teams.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Basic understanding of procurement principles, contract management, and vendor negotiation.
- Prior experience with rail, tunnel, structural, station, or soil construction is preferred.
- Ability to pass a TWIC and/or SWAC Background Check at High Level.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
