Armand Corporation is an award-winning MWBE construction management firm celebrating over 30 years in the industry. We are seeking a full-time Senior Proposal Coordinator to join our Business Development and Proposal team. The Proposal Specialist will collaborate with existing team members to carry out a comprehensive approach to develop, produce, and submit winning proposals and marketing material. Our ideal candidate should be an outstanding writer and editor, very comfortable with tight deadlines, working under pressure, being creative, highly accountable, and eager to impact a growing firm.

The position is located at the firm’s Corporate Headquarters in midtown Manhattan. The work schedule is hybrid, with a set schedule of three days in-office and two days of remote work. This position reports directly to the Proposal Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor various websites for RFQs and RFPs. Create Go/No-Go assessments.
  • Read RFP documentation and create a preliminary proposal checklist.
  • Responsible for researching, writing, reviewing, editing, and formatting customized content for compelling proposals in a timely fashion.
  • Reach out to potential consultants for teaming opportunities, obtain, and review their submitted materials for completeness.
  • Complete necessary forms and proposals for physical or electronic production, submission, and/or shipping to ensure timely proposal delivery.
  • Assist in developing and updating accurate, powerful, and attractive marketing materials, including company profiles, project sheets, resumes, advertisements, brochures, and handouts.
  • Research and assist in writing, editing, and proofreading proposal development material such as firm qualifications, cover letters, project descriptions, staff biographies, and resumes tailored to each pursuit.
  • Incorporate technical narratives on specific construction projects with some technical content provided by construction managers or technical leads.
  • Assist with M/WDSBE certification renewals, database updates, and completing necessary forms.
  • Collaborate with other team members to conceive and implement creative ideas to promote a strong commitment to business development. 
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and other in-person industry events as needed. 
  • Participate in weekly business development meetings and other related in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's in English, Communications, Journalism, or the Liberal Arts or demonstrated educational/professional experience writing creatively, professionally, and/or academically.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in proposal writing, technical writing, or related field. Previous experience with a construction, engineering, or architecture firm is required. Experience with creating proposals for public and federal agencies is preferred.
  • Excellence in proposal writing and preparation, with an understanding of best practices;
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders;
  • Experience with desktop publishing software, such as InDesign, to assist in the production and formatting of the proposal.
  • The ability to create graphics for proposals is helpful but not a requirement.
  • Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
