Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Project Manager experienced in overseeing all aspects of the design process for general construction projects across New York City.

The ideal candidate has 5-10 years of construction supervisory experience, with at least 3+ years in construction, educational facilities, government owned properties, or historical projects within the metropolitan New York City area.

This position will be full-time, on-site. Candidates are expected to live in or near the New York metropolitan area, with the expectation of reporting to our Midtown Manhattan office, client office, and other Armand locations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee daily construction activities at assigned project sites in New York City.
  • Prepare and review required daily work activity and safety checklist reports.
  • Upload and report contractor daily activities onto Armand’s and/or clients’ document control systems.
  • Monitor general contractor manpower as well as the quality of work performed.
  • Coordinate two-week look-ahead schedules with trade contractors.
  • Check compliance of work with approved drawings/submittals as work is installed
  • Document and track the correction of non-conforming work.
  • Attend field coordination and progress meetings as needed.
  • Review contractor payment requisitions against work installed.
  • Prepare estimates for field change orders and review contractor change orders providing recommendations.
  • Interface with clients, inspectors, superintendents, regulatory agencies, safety consultants, and architects/engineers on-site.
  • Monitor and document contractor work with drawings and photographs.
  • Coordinate construction activities with the scheduler; review construction and milestone schedules for accuracy.
  • Ensure contractors meet milestone dates and monitor workers' sign-in/out sheets for accuracy.
  • Attend pre-bid and pre-proposal meetings as required.
  • Perform other related duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, architecture, or engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on commercial construction of educational facilities, government owned properties, or historical projects.
  • Certifications such as CMIT, EIT, DBIA, CCM, LEED, and/or PMP strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of applicable NYC and NYS codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn in-house and external software, such as SharePoint and eBuilder.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
